MLoft and Mitchell Lofts are trade styles for Mitchell & Associates, a design/build firm that has been creating new residential built form in the City of Toronto for the past thirty-five years. In 1982 they designed, developed and built the first legal loft condominium conversion in Toronto at 41 Shanly Street, previously the Dominion Felt Company, which won the Ontario Renews Award in 1984 for excellence and innovation in design.
Since then, Mitchell and Associates, through subsidiary project specific companies,
has converted numerous factories, Churches, historical and institutional buildings into unique high quality residential loft condominiums. Since 2000 they have been active in developing new infill condominiums in Toronto's Beach area, including Glen Manor, Green House, Falling Brook and currently One Rainsford and Two Hundred.
The principal of Mitchell and Associates, Robert Mitchell, holds a Bachelor of Applied
Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Urban and
Regional Planning. He is a registered member of the Association of Professional
Engineers of Ontario, and has over thirty-five years hands-on experience in all aspects of new construction and retrofitting and conversion of buildings into residential
condominiums. Mr Mitchell is a long time resident of the Beach community.
